Lifestyle of Muslims should include

Salah – an act of worship which should be prayed five times in a day;

Ghusl – an obligatory bath to take every day as a ritual;

Dhikr – remembrance of Allah ;

Recitation of Al-Quran – reading at least once in a day especially after Fajr salah;

Sunnah – following the steps of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ  (may peace be upon him) and act accordingly;

and last but not the least Implication of Shariah law – Legal rulings of Muslim social life that is not just a set of beliefs but laws to guide us to the straight path which affects us in this world (dunya) and also the afterlife (akhirah).

Salah (prayer) is one of the pillars of Islam. Offering Salah throughout the day is very good for our body, brain and soul. When we do Wudoo (ablution), our body cleanse is done and while Salah cleanse the soul as we tend to connect with our Creator ALLAH. This act helps our brains because brains carry pressure from the earth’s magnetic pull so while doing Shajdah – lowering our head to the ground, brain releases off from the earth’s pull for some time and this relaxes the brain to function appropriately during that time.

It is important to know about personal hygiene, Ghusl is the best way to maintain it. Ghusl, unlike Wudoo i.e. partial ablution, is a complete ablution actually. There is a guide to take Ghusl properly and a Muslim should be aware of it while understanding the Islamic lifestyle.

“Verily, Allah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves.”

After every obligatory Fardh prayers, dhikr  is essential. Yes, remembrance of Allah is performing every act of worship in Islam but dhikr differs a little as our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (may peace be upon him) taught us. The specific ways is to be repetitive on saying Subhanallah 33 times;  Alhamdullilah 33 times;  Allahu Akhbar 34 times and completing a Tasbeeh. Doing dhikr on a specific du’a has its own benefits too. Dhikr helps to keep your scale of good deeds higher. Dhikr erases sins.

Waking up at dawn and doing exercise is best for health as science instructs us. In fact Islam taught us that already. The most refreshing air you can breathe is at the time of the quiet hours of the morning. The best time to recite Qur’an is after finishing Fajr salah because concentration level is higher comparatively during that time and this practice has a spiritual benefit as well.

“The recital of the Quran at dawn is always witnessed – the angels of the night and the angels of the day witness it.”

-Al-Qur’an 17:78-

Constantly making Du’a (supplication) is an establishment of an Islamic lifestyle. Du’a is an action of you calling upon Allah and seeking a prayer and asking for barakah in wealth and health and asking of Rizq and Hayat. It’s an approach from you to your Creator and nobody or nothing is in between you and your Lord. Making Du’a before every action is a Sunnah. Sunnah is the proper and legit way of living a life. Living in a way where you make du’a before and after you eat, while you go asleep and then when you are awakened, even when you enter or leave your house and this goes on. In your daily activities you just add a recommended du’a required for that activity. But prohibition to certain conducts that are against making du’a protects you from committing it. For conducts like consumption of pork and drinking alcohol are Haraam in Islam. It is also Sunnah when you wash your hands before having a meal and you eat those animals only which are sacrificed in the Name of ALLAH. It is not permissible to eat dead animals in Islam. There’s a Sunnah for proper eating, too. A Muslim should eat with his right hand. A part of Sunnah is clothing modestly, too. The etiquette of wearing a dress is to begin with the right limb first, and then the left. It is Sunnah for men to keep beard and that is how the way ALLAH differed among genders. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told men to use scents in public and for women among women only. Oral hygiene affects people who are around so it should be taken care also as a part of Sunnah. One who is clean is in the company of angels. Dress should be handled with care if it is dirt-free and without filth on it as due to the preparation of Salah. Sunnah is itself an activity countless in the lifestyle of Muslims.

Sunnah is not an enactment but Shari’ah is. Shari’ah is standard laws of Islam in terms of property affairs and finance, affairs of family and social misconduct. Shari’ah is interpreted in context with Al-Qur’an and Al-Hadith. There are no old scriptures of a set of rules that shows Shari’ah. However the derivation of Shari’ah varies among Sunni and Shia – two major groups of Muslim faith. Shari’ah law in a Muslim’s life is valuable and justifiable. Suppose a Muslim is gambling which is forbidden and is a punishable offence under Shari’ah law. Interest in any loan is called Riba which means excess that is also against Islamic law. Following the Islamic law actually contemplates a lifestyle free of problems.

Islamic Lifestyle and goals of a Muslim life draws out together in a similar pattern. One Muslim should adapt the quality life that Islam teachings provide. Success comes to those who live the life as Allah instructed.

People will forget our 1000 good deeds for one fault

Allah will forgive our 1000 bad deeds for one good deed
